Pharmaceutical medication doesn’t have to be the only way to go. There are many do-it-yourself (DIY) homemade concoctions available to you and easy to do! Whether you have a cold, a headache or a cough, there is a home remedy for it and we are going to share a few with you right now.

Safety first! Although these are 100% natural home remedies, you must always consult with your parents (if you are under 18) or your doctor first. You might be taking prescription medication that does not go well with these remedies.

Warm Bath

It’s not a myth like you might have thought. Warm baths work magic when you are suffering from the cold (also known as the sniffles). The steam that we breathe in also helps unclog nasal congestion.

Honey

Can’t stop coughing? Suffering from a sore throat? A teaspoon of honey could help ease the pain. Another way to help soothe your throat if that is too sweet for you is by making yourself a cup of tea with a teaspoon of honey, some grated ginger and a generous amount of lemon juice. WARNING! Never give honey to a child younger than 1.

Green Tea

Miracle worker in a cup! Green tea doesn’t cure as much as it prevents. It can kill bacteria, which in turn lowers the risk of infection. In addition, green tea has many antioxidants which can prevent serious diseases in the future. This simple, yet amazing tea also improves brain function, keeping us alert without the negative effects of caffeinated products like coffee.
