Did you know that Gwyneth Paltrow, the beautiful and talented Oscar-winning American actress, is also a businesswoman and the author of several cookbooks?!
In 2008 Paltrow launched from her kitchen (!) a weekly newsletter about natural health, travel recommendations, healthy recipes and shopping discoveries. The paper was mostly for friends and for herself, so she could get answers for various questions she had about health and fitness. The newsletter got so popular, Paltrow expanded it into a web-based company, Goop.com. The funny name is not random: “Goop is a nickname, like my name is G.P., so that is really where it came from. And I wanted it to be a word that means nothing and could mean anything.” Paltrow explains.
These days, Goop is a lifestyle and health website, where you can find health trends, tips and articles about food, beauty, style, traveling, sports, careers and wellness – the active process of becoming aware of and making choices towards a healthy and fulfilling life.
Because health is both physical and mental, the ideas in Goop are not only about modern trends, they have references to traditional Asian medicines and Eastern philosophies. This way, the readers can get a variety of ideas and recommendations to make their life healthier in different ways.
